Moving Forward – Martin Luther King, Jr

If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.

Starting off a series of mid-month check-ins on my intention for the year: Keep Moving Forward. It feels appropriate with the celebration of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr’s birth and life to start with a quote from him.

Dr. King knew that hate and violence beget additional hate and violence. He taught us that love conquers hate. But he also taught us that true change requires us to stand up, to stand together, and to stand in love against hatred, violence, and oppression.

The fight for equality requires us all. Stand with our brethren. Believe the lived experience they share. Help create the changes in our world that will bring us closer to justice, liberty, and happiness for all lives – and raise up the voices that help us all raise our vibration.

When we help others shine, we shine brighter ourselves, and we all shine brightest together. So if you can fly…help someone else to soar, and raise us all higher.

And if you’re struggling just to crawl, know that you can reach out and find a hand here to help you up. Together we can keep moving forward.
